Ashanti Shequoiya, also known for her stage name Ashanti was born on 13 October the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American songwriter, singer and actress. Ashanti, a teenage singer-songwriter and actress from the US is signed with Murder Inc. Records to record in 2002. She appeared in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? song that was released the following year. Both Fat Joe's What's Luv? The first female artist to be in the top two spots on Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at the top spot and What's Luv? at number two. She was also featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? as well as Ja Rule's Never On Time. Her sample for her debut single Foolish comes from DeBarge's Stay with Me song from 1983. Ashanti released her self-titled debut album in 2002, via Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. label. The Declaration The fourth studio album, was released on June 3, 2008. Hey Baby After the Club came out on the 16th of October to digital and radio outlets. She portrayed Latasha in Army Wives and starred in the film Christmas in the City. The song she sang Rock wit U was sampled by British artist Aitch for his hit song Baby on 10 March 2022.
